Entrusted by the owner of People’s Republic of Mongolia, Xinhai Mining Technology & Equipment Inc. provided mineral processing design and relative services to the HORIMT gold project. During the design,
Xinhai aimed to protect the interests of investors, reduce the investment and increase the profits, focus on the health and safety of operators, emphasize on environmental protection, resource conservation & recycling and the high efficiency and energy saving of single machine or the combined unit, and strive to the full effectiveness of each operation and the whole process to ore processing and recovery.

The design of mineral processing plant included mineral processing and smelting, and the final product was the gold ingot with grade over 95%. The system of gold extraction by carbon-in-leach process was applied to the plant, which included basic production systems, such as crushing, grinding, carbon leaching, smelting, tailing residue and backwater.

Crushing system adopted three stages and one closed circuit. Three sets of C80 crusher were applied, which ensured high efficiency crushing, good particle shape and less energy consumption. Grinding system adopted two stages closed circuits. Xinhai hydrocyclone (Xinhai rubber lined) and grinder were applied to the closed circuit, and large diameter rolling bearing instead of traditional sliding bearing was applied to the grinder, which grinded material size 10mm to 0.074mm with 95% passing rate. Carbon leaching system adopted flow of nine stages all-sliming cyaniding leaching and countercurrent carbon adsorption after pre-leaching. High-efficiency thickener developed by Xinhai and high effciency and energy saving double impeller hollow shaft inlet mechanical agitation and leaching tank were applied, to ensure the leaching rate of more than 94% and adsorption rate of 98%. Smelting system included operations of gold-loaded carbon desorption, electrowinning, impurities removing and smelting. Two sets of advanced integrated systems provided by Xinhai were applied to the above four operations, and the operation efficiencies of desorption, electrowinning, and smelting were all around 99%. Tailings residue filtration and storage and backwater system adopted dry transportation and dry stacking and backwater cyclic utilization, which fully embodied the principle of resource saving and environment protection.
