The hematite itself has a magnetic, so the hematite beneficiation process using gravity separation, magnetic separation and other operations to remove most of the impurities. However, in the process of iron smelting, sulfur, phosphorus, quartz and other impurities content has a specific requirement, so the magnetic separation of hematite beneficiation is usually added to reduce the content of harmful impurities. Affecting factors of hematite flotation are mineral particle size, pulp concentration, flotation reagent system, design of flotation separation process and other. Minerals size, through crushing and grinding operations, on the one hand to make useful mineral ore monomer dissociation, and on the other hand to provide suitable grain size of raw material for magnetic and flotation operation of hematite ore.
Flotation is mainly through adsorptive bubble to delivery mineral particles to the slurry surface, by scraping device scraps out. The carrying capacity of the bubble is limited, if the mineral particles are too large, bubbles cannot carrier it to the surface, and the flotation effect will be greatly affected. Hematite is a mineral that is extremely easy to mud, if the grinding ore granularity meticulous, pulp fine slime content increases, on the one hand, worsened hematite flotation environment and on the other hand due to the fine grained nonselective adsorption, increasing the medicament amount. Pulp concentration, in thehematite beneficiation, coarse grain adopts high concentration fine sorting, and fine grain using smaller separation concentration. High concentrate product has high recovery rate, low concentration product has high grade, and in thehematite production, separation process should be selected according to hematite ore processing demand. Reagent system includes reagents, amount, feeding way, using way and hematite flotation reagents include collectors, foaming agent, modifier capture. The collection agent is useful in increasing the hydrophobic difference of useful minerals and gangue minerals, making it able to achieve separation; the foaming agent is useful in generating appropriate size and number of bubbles that meet the flotation demand; an adjusting agent is mainly used for adjusting the pulp properties and mineral surface properties. The flotation process includes mineral separation, separation mode, sequence number, number of cycles, and has the biggest influence on hematite flotation. In addition to the mineral water hardness, temperature, flotation time, flotation speed, etc.. also affect separation effect.
