Grid Type Ball Mill

Grinding operation is a further processing of crushing products to achieve the goal of dissociation mineral monomer and provide qualified raw material for choosing the operation. Grinding is an essential homework to most of the concentrators and also the last work before the material is selected. The mill is the main equipment of grinding operation. According to the discharging methods, it can be divided into overflow ball mill–slurry overflows freely through the trunnion in the discharging head; grid ball mill–after being discharged through the grid plate, material flow out of the trunnion; peripheral ball mill–materials discharge through pores surrounding the shell.

Grid ball mill is widely used in smashing all kinds of ores and other materials, ore dressing and national economic departments like building and chemical industries etc. The size of ore shall not exceed 65mm and the best feed size is under 6mm. The effect in this job is better than coarse grinding. Grid ball mill consists of the shell, feeding part, discharging part, main bearing, lubricating system, driving system and other parts. There is wearing a liner inside the shell, and both ends of the shell are provided with a flange. The end cover of the mill is connected with the flange plate. The feeding part consists of the head, trunnion and feeding device. The discharge part includes the grid plate, head, and discharge trunnion.

Mineral aggregate goes into the ball mill by the feeder. When the mill shell rotating the friction between the ore and steel ball put the ore and steel ball into a certain height, under the action of gravity, mineral aggregate and steel ball drop, fall and grind which makes the ore being a grind. At the same time, the feeding end continues to feed and give pressure to make internal ore toward the discharge end. In the discharge end of grid ball mill, there are certain specification holes in the plate and the inner wall of the discharge head is divided into a certain number of fan chamber. Particle size material that is less than the hole size can go into the fan chamber through the holes. When the fan chamber rotates together with the shell material will enter into the trunnion in the discharge end and ultimately be discharged from the mill.
