PERTH, AUSTRALIA — 4 September 2026 — Xinhai Mining was shortlisted for the AAMEG Award for Outstanding Social Development in an African Mining Project at the 24th Africa Down Under (ADU) conference, held in Perth from 2–4 September 2026.

Africa Down Under is a major forum for Australia–Africa business and government engagement and has developed into one of the leading African-focused mining events held outside the African continent. The conference brings together government representatives, mining companies and industry partners to discuss opportunities and developments across Africa’s mining sector.

At ADU 2026, Xinhai Mining presented its strategy built around two areas: mining investment and development, and integrated mining services through its EPC+M+O model. The company also engaged with government representatives, mining companies and industry partners from African countries on new opportunities for mining development and cooperation.

01Decades of Experience in African Mining

During the conference, Xinhai Mining was shortlisted for the AAMEG Award for Outstanding Social Development in an African Mining Project.

The award recognises exploration, development and mining services companies that have delivered outstanding community initiatives at a regional or national level, with activities designed to generate sustainable long-term benefits and measurable social impact in the areas where they operate.

The shortlisting reflects Xinhai’s decades of experience in African mining markets.

Over the years, Xinhai has established a presence across a number of African countries, with projects including the 2 million t/a lithium project in Zimbabwe, the 500 t/d gold mining and processing EPC project in Zimbabwe, the 27,000 t/d gold project in Guinea, and the 3,000 t/d graphite project in Tanzania.

These projects have been completed and brought into normal operation, demonstrating Xinhai’s capabilities in mining technology and engineering project delivery.

Xinhai’s work in Africa extends from engineering and construction to community engagement and capacity transfer. Beyond delivering mining projects, the company has sought to contribute to long-term, sustainable value in the regions where it operates.

This approach reflects the principles behind the AAMEG Award for Outstanding Social Development in an African Mining Project and Xinhai’s long-term experience in African mining.

Building on its decades of experience in the region, Xinhai has established local operating entities in Ghana, Zimbabwe and Tanzania, supported by three regional offices covering West Africa, Southern Africa and East Africa.

Together, these operations form an integrated service network across Africa, enabling Xinhai to respond to the needs of mining clients and provide more localised services.

02Discussions with Egypt’s Minister of Mineral Resources

On 3 September, during ADU 2026, representatives of Xinhai Mining held a meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Mineral Resources.

The two sides discussed the development of Egypt’s mining sector, mineral resource investment and cooperation in mining project development. They also exchanged views on Xinhai’s further participation in mining project development in Egypt.

The meeting came as Xinhai continues to expand its presence in the Egyptian mining market.

In August 2026, Xinhai Mining completed a C$4 million strategic investment in Canadian-listed Aton Resources Inc. (TSXV: AAN), becoming an important strategic shareholder of the company.

Aton Resources has a long-standing focus on Egypt’s mineral resources sector and holds gold and polymetallic projects in the country, supported by geological exploration results. Its core Abu Marawat concession has favourable development conditions and significant resource potential.

03Combining Mining Investment with Integrated Services

From its shortlisting for an international industry award to discussions with Egypt’s Minister of Mineral Resources, ADU 2026 highlighted the development of Xinhai Mining’s two-pronged approach: mining investment and development alongside integrated mining services.

Through investment, Xinhai aims to participate earlier and more deeply in selected mineral resource projects and pursue longer-term development opportunities.

Through its integrated mining services, the company leverages its capabilities across the mining project value chain under its EPC+M+O model, supporting the development of mining projects and the conversion of mineral resources into economic value.
